Art and music is considered one of the most important cultural aspects of the planet. Megarians spend their leisure time enjoying the arts, literature, and music. Both literature and music are written in Meg and the other dialects of the planet’s sectors. The novelettes and books written are usually love stories or fictional stories involving mystical creatures. On the other hand, the music is composed with hand-made instruments similar to the harp, guitar, and the drums. The songs are mostly instrumental. The purpose of music in Megara is transmitting tranquility and happiness to the listener, and therefore the melodies composed tend to be upbeat and relaxing. Moreover, concerts are very popular among the inhabitants. These concerts are very small gatherings that take place in forests, which is very festivals and big celebrations are typically held.

It can be said that the plastic arts of Megara are a true wonder. No other planet in the Alpha Quadrant shows the same dedication towards this cultural aspect. Megarians paint landscapes in their leisure time, portraying the planet’s lush forests and magical waterfalls. In addition, the inhabitants also carve intricate sculptures or paint vases with illustrations of mystical creatures or their gods. These are used to decorate homes, monasteries, etc. To earn a living, inhabitants sell their works of art to foreigners or send them to other planets of the Alpha Quadrant. Furthermore, there are specific works of art designed exclusively for the royalty. These luxurious works of art are extremely expensive and are displayed in the Courthouse of the purple sector.

Art and Music

"Blue Darkness" painting by Megarian artist Ub Tilo.

This is a typical Megarian song, including both vocal and instrumental (the lyrics are in Meg, which is why they sound in peculiar consonants). This song has the purpose of entertainment and transmitting happiness.
