As previously mentioned, planet Megara offers a variety of lush deciduous forests and magical waterfalls that light up at night. The planet’s fresh forests are filled with mostly deciduous trees such as: maple, magnolia, oak, and birch, whose special sap is used for organic beverages the Megarians drink for rejuvenation and purification. As for other plants, Megarian forests also contain a variety of wildflowers, moss, ferns, and lichen. These plants also light up at night, and are also the color of their corresponding sector. Nevertheless, these plants do not serve the same magical purposes as the trees’ leaves do (meaning that they could not be made into beverages). Moreover, these plants (especially wildflowers) are used to decorate, and they look beautiful on the planet’s homes and monasteries. In addition, Megarian women like to wear them on their clothes and enjoy making elaborated crowns out of them.

 

Planet Megara is populated by a variety of mystical creatures not found on any other planet of the Alpha Quadrant. Among this group of mystical creatures are fairies, mermaids, Pegasus, centaurs, gnomes, and dragons. These creatures, which are mostly found in forests and waterfalls, tend to be quite friendly, bonding easily with the inhabitants. Although these creatures are found on every sector of Megara, each sector has its own “state creature” that represents it. The fairies are the typical creatures for the blue sector. The mermaids are the typical creatures for the purple sector. The Pegasus is the typical creature for the orange sector. The centaurs are the typical creatures for the green sector. The gnomes are the typical creatures for the white sector, and lastly the typical creature of the black sector is the dragon. These creatures are not meant to be hunted or eaten. Instead they serve the purpose of friendship and aid. This is why the inhabitants eat a vegan diet, feeding mostly on herbs, fruits, nuts, and vegetables.
